First Annual Meeting in Barcelona and a successful patient journey workshop hosted by IESE and EURICE

After the first year of the project, the MELISSA consortium came together for their first Annual Meeting from the 29th-30th May 2023. The IESE Business school kindly hosted the meeting at their beautiful campus in Barcelona, Spain.

The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the individual partners’ progress in the different work areas. In the afternoon, meeting participants were split into five smaller groups for engaging discussions within respective work packages. On the second day, two workshops took place. The first workshop focused on the different overlaps between the scientific work packages, while the second workshop aimed to map out the different care journeys of Persons with Diseases, identifying key pain points and understanding how MELISSA could alleviate these pains. To this end, all participants were split into five different groups and were given one hour to visualise the journey that the patients who were presented on the slides have been through and brainstorm how the MELISSA project would impact their way of living with diabetes. This second workshop was hosted by IESE and EURICE. We were delighted to also welcome the MELISSA Patient Advisory Committee (PAC) in person and we would like to thank them for their valuable and insightful contribution.

All in all, the foundations have been laid for another successful year in the MELISSA research.
